Welcome to our Primary 2 Classroom Blog! You can find important school and classroom information posted here bi-monthly! You may find photos of your children working, and are encouraged to save them to enjoy and share with loved ones. We are excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year! You have made a big commitment by joining our FMS family. We guarantee new friends, a thriving environment, open communication, and a plethora of memories! We are eager to show your child so many new and exciting concepts in P2.
All of our students have been getting familiar with our environment, exploring fun material and making new friends. We look forward to a great school year, and welcome our new students and families.
Parent Orientation: Thursday, August 22nd at 5:00 pm. You are invited to a very important parent meeting. We review crucial information that will assist your best experience at FMS. Although orientation is targeted to NEW families, returning families are welcome. Please find care for your child that evening so we may have your full attention.
Please remember there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day.
Please remember we must work together as a team. Staying in touch and up to date with our classroom and school events will ensure the ultimate experience and learning environment. We have many ways to communicate including: email: [email protected], the communication book, parent-teachers conferences, and phone calls. After school hours work best to speak with Ms. Jessie or Ms. Brianna. Pick up and drop off at the door are busy times as we focus on transitioning students to the learning environment and not ideal for conversations. It’s best to talk before or after school when students are not present. We will have formal parent-teacher conferences twice a year, and meet by appointment by request.
We will be sending home a blue tote bag which needs to be brought to and from school EACH day. This will help your child carry paperwork and projects home. We ask that you please make sure your child keeps it in a safe place each night, so it can be brought to school easily in the morning. If you see unfamiliar items in your child’s blue tote bag, please verify with a teacher whether these items belong to the classroom. Our fun, little Montessori pieces are tempting to take home and find themselves in pockets or bags. We appreciate your help to try and keep all works complete for everyone to enjoy. Lastly, please label water bottles and all clothing items with your child’s name.
Thank you for trusting us with the future of your child’s educational journey. We look forward to getting to know everyone and making lasting memories together!
“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.” ~Maria Montessori
Sincerely,
Ms. Jessie, Ms. Brianna and Ms. Julie
